Hug the person next to you.

if we could stop, contemplate,
and still not get there late,
taking the time, to create,
from love instead of hate,
then we would find, peace of mind,
from purely being kind,
seeing the world, through this face,
one race called Humankind.

Thanks for reading.

Hotel Hell

Howdy Bonofriends. I moved about a month ago and in the process have been discovering some very interesting "stories". I guess I would define them as "stories" because I can't quite call them lyrics until the songs have been finished and the "story"... can finally be told through song.

Anyhow- here is one that I found particularly entertaining. This moment in time was defined by a need for new living space, one closer in proximity to a rehearsal space in Glendale...and a need to get the FUnK out of the place I was living.

As the story begins:
I'm so excited to answer an add in the LA Weekly for a loft style apartment close t0 USC, $375 a month. Just what I needed. I met the "landlord" at a gas station, which made perfect sense at the time, and followed him to the residence. He spoke quickly of the 18 people sharing the a bathroom/kitchen and the resident living through the strange door next to the fridge, but I "didn't need to worry about that". He was our "maintenance guy". I guess there's no need for a "normal" walkthrough ( it's 3 a.m., and dark), three flights of unlit stairs (the light broke that day), a huge "skylite" HOLE in the ceiling of the "third floor loft", a poorly carpeted, green indoor/outdoor "living space" ... literally, you could see the stars and feel the breeze through the ceiling, but it's L.A., so that's cool, it rarely ever rains...AND of course all this would be repaired and ready for Mr. Frank to move in right away, two weeks tops. . .

So naturally, I said - where do I sign, can give you a check for the deposit and sure I'll pay to replace the carpet.

Some words I jotted down:
On the corner
Near Estrella and 23rd
Conversations with the little man
overheard, he's preachin' hate
forgot about the wonders of Stevie.

Lady Mary,
she's a mother in other words,
have a drink with Larry... can't,
believe it's so absurd,
with Miles spinning on the table,
I can hear the lies and fables.

Livin' in Hotel Hell, Thats what they call it
every little story to tell, you'd think you saw it,
So hard to believe some are programmed to decieve,
it's the payment you receive,
from livin' here in Hotel Hell.

So there you have a piece of it. Whatever it is. There will be more.

News media obfuscate our sense of reality.

In this election cycle, as in the past few, it is the party or groups who can blur the lines of reality that win over the masses.
Rovesque obfuscation.
He understands how best to manipulate the minds of the population through half truths and rumored lies and speculation. He states something as a given reality - "Of course we all know...that's understood...but, that's not important right now."
The rumors about Mr. Obama are some of the worst I have come across and no matter how much you try to dissuade a potential voter of these lies they will always retain that morsel of murky reality.
Let's see what pops up about Mrs. Palin, lies or truths will history only judge.
